Gretchen Kayser is an expert at developing hydraulic models to help her clients easily visualize the on-the-ground impacts of river, estuary, and floodplain projects. Gretchen takes an interactive approach to hydraulic modeling, using computational tools that help her fully understand how a river or floodplain behaves before she refines a design that will meet the desired flow conditions.  Whether she is modeling changes in hydrodynamic behavior from the implementation of grade control structures, wood placement, ice jam break-ups, or dam failure, Gretchen always keeps her focus on careful model calibration and validation to make sure that she is producing accurate model results that her clients can rely on. 1D, 2D, or 3D - Gretchen has never met a modeling dimension that she doesn't like!

Gretchen's background includes a B.S. in civil engineering and an M.S. in environmental engineering with a focus in computational fluid dynamics. She has applied experience in AutoCAD, Civil3D, RiverFlow2D, TUFLOW, HEC-RAS, SRH2D, and engineering design.
